NEGURA BUNGET: New Lineup Announced

May 9, 2009

NEGURA BUNGET, the Romanian band that incorporates elements of black metal, progressive metal, folk metal and dark ambient, has released the following statement:

"This has to be one of the most difficult messages to be written. We are sorry to announce that Hupogrammos [guitars, vocals, bass, keyboards, archaic instruments] and Sol Faur [guitar] have ended their journey along NEGURA BUNGET. Our paths are now apart. We wish them all the best on their new endeavors (their new project will be announced at a later time). Meanwhile, a new NEGURA BUNGET lineup is assembled, which will continue the path started almost 15 years ago. Rest assured, we are keen to prove there is more to be said by this band, and we will work to fulfill our spiritual endeavor relentlessly.

"All NEGURA BUNGET scheduled plans (concerts, festivals, contracts with Aural Music/Code666 Records and Prophecy Productions/Lupus Lounge) will be completed in the new formula. New web site and MySpace page are developed and will soon be online."

Hupogrammos and Sol Faur have released the following statement regarding their departure from NEGURA BUNGET: "We would like to thank everybody who supported and believed in NEGURA BUNGET and invite you to follow our further musical activities."

The new NEGURA BUNGET lineup is:

Corb - Guitar/Vocals
Spin - Guitar
Gadinet - Bass
Inia Dinia - Keyboards
Ageru Pamanatului - Vocals/Pipes/Percussions/Xylophone
Negru - Drums/Percussions

NEGURA BUNGET's first four releases were recently reissued in digipacks with improved artwork via Prophecy Productions.

* "From Transylvanian Forest" is the only demo recording from WICCAN REDE, the legendary precursors to NEGURA BUNGET. This re-release with two bonus tracks lays bare the roots of NEGURA BUNGET in a unique way.

* On their debut album, "Zîrnindu-Sã", the Romanians celebrate a furious and primal black metal with sophisticated drumming and racing guitars. For many fans, this record still marks the band's pinnacle. The re-release comes with a bonus CD featuring a previously unreleased alternate recording of the entire album.

* The potential hinted at on these releases was fully tapped on the EP "Sala Molksa". "Sala Molksa" offers highly original symphonic black metal with a penchant for complex arrangements. This re-release comes with a bonus CD as well, containing an unreleased alternative recording of the EP.

* "Mãiastru Sfetnic", finally, is the masterpiece by the "early" NEGURA BUNGET, written large in the history of black metal. This album is characterized by a stunningly dense and oppressive atmosphere and has secured the band a position in the pantheon of black metal.

All of these digipack CDs were limited to 2,000 copies each. There was also a special six-CD box, strictly limited to 500 copies, including a woven NEGURA BUNGET logo patch and a sticker.
